Die Explorer Sail-Yacht "SY HÄGAR"
The SY "HÄGAR" is a one-off, cutter-rigged steel sloop designed by the renowned Dutch yacht architect Dick Koopmans Sr. His designs are known for their exceptional seaworthiness and are valued by sailors worldwide for long-term voyages in all waters.
With a hull made of 6 mm Corten steel, collision bulkheads in the bow and stern, an extremely low center of gravity, a low and protected center cockpit and a fixed stainless steel dodger, the SY "HÄGAR" is an expedition yacht that is equipped for all seas and trips through the ice.
A diesel generator, a solar system and a wind generator as well as large battery banks ensure that there is always sufficient energy on board. In combination with a watermaker, a 2000-liter diesel tank and a 2000-liter fresh water tank, the "HÄGAR" can travel self-sufficiently for long periods in the most remote places in the world and manage long passages.
Equipped with VHF, SSB, Inmarsat and Starlink, contact with the rest of the world is possible at any time and from anywhere in the world.
